I had the Dostert Chardonnay a second time this week, I love it. Rather a Jura-Chardonnay in my view.
Anway this style is definitely a great addition to the german Chardonnay portfolio.

I like the Jura comparison. Glad you are digging Jonas’ wines. If you can get your hands on one of the Pinots I highly recommend it. If you can’t find one I will bring you one, if you are cooking

You guys are awesome, thanks for making this thread so valuable to me.
I am surprised that no one quotes Martin Wassmer, I do not know if the wines are available in the USA, but the quality and the progress are consistant for the last 20 years. Today, the whole “SW” range is a true benchmark and the “GC” line offers amazing wines…
The Grauburgunder Castelberg tastes 80% like a Chassagne Montrachet there and are the best I have ever tasted (not a big fan of this grape by the way). I am in love with their Weissburgunder for years and the Chardonnay Castelberg is, I think, one of the very best Germany has to offer.
German Chardonnay is improving by leaps and bounds. The Donnhoff is a good wine but it was probably the least interesting wine at my German Chardonnay dinner not because it is a bad wine but because all of the others were so good. I should also add it was probably the least expensive some of the others wines were multiples in price.
You can see the entire line up in this thread:
I was in Montreal at the SAQ Selection store - lots of gems.
Based upon @Robert_Dentice advice, I asked the representative if they had any German Chardonnay.
Fair selection of German wines (Dönnhoff et al.), but no Chardonnay.
