TN: Domaine Jacques Prieur Clos de Vougeot 2006

Domaine Jacques Prieur Clos de Vougeot 2006:
I think the last vintage of this I had was '02. I remember liking it. Guess you could say I bought some of this on a whim then? The nose is an elegant mix of fresh flowers, ripe berries, with undercurrent of pine forest. In the mouth the flavors are a pleasurable, but not overly complex, mix of rainier cherries, blackberries and red plums, violets, a little heavy-handed wood and a touch of damp earth/ sappy pine combs. I like it enough to be happy that I own more but I am not in love with the oak- mind you it is not like Perrot-Minot but it is enough to take away from what could be. Overall though I believe this wine will improve mightily with age. 91 points
