TN: Dinner at Nathan's (geeky stuff)

You gotta problem with Metras? Wanna talk to cousin Vinnie 'bout this?

Geeky stuff indeed - sounds like a great sampling.
More jealousy here.

Cool wines Matt, as usual…

…and my first thought was that you were drinking with VLM…wrong Nathan.

That would have been a fun, experimental tasting - I’ve only had one of the wineries in that entire line-up! Faury. Thanks for posting, Tooc.

I was curious about the varieties in the Bourdy and check the domaine site. It says the Cotes de Jura comprises Pinot, Poulsard, and Troussea, fermented together. I’ll keep an eye out for a bottle to try.

Thanks for the interesting notes. Chamonard '98 rides again!

Terrific notes and tasting, Matt–love reading about wines like these. Many thanks for sharing.

That line-up is so geeky … it … it reads like a Chambers Street e-mail.

This reads like a blog of Robert Parker’s trip down to Hell.

Abandon hope, Robert Parker!

Great notes, Matt, and interesting thread.

I tend to agree with your assessment of Ganevat’s reds. They’ve always been interesting and fresh, but rarely have they moved me like the blancs. This was right on the cusp of getting to the levels of some of the blancs I’ve had, and certainly one of the finest reds of his I’ve tried to date.

Still not sure I’m a buyer given the price…I think the reds of Gahier are far more substantial and, at times, half the cost.
