TN: dinner at Ginger

Sat at the bar with Dana and shared a bottle of Domaine de la Janasse CdP 2000, beautiful aromatics and texture. Fully mature and ready to go after a quick decant for sediment, will go back and drink more of these at $60. Great with potstickers, Hanoi Tuna, and seven flavor beef. Finished off with a bottle of JF Coche Dury Bourgogne Blanc 2009, shared with Cortney, which was a bit too waxy and honeyed for me, but that’s the vintage, just surprised Coche made such a fat BB in the vintage. No real energy, just yellow fruits and a bit one dimensional.

Fun night overall.

I had the 09 Meusault village and was equally unimpressed. A lack of energy is a great way to describe it.

Mmm 7 flavor beef, Hanoi potstickers. Been a long time since I was at WG…

I like the fact that he apparently had two different dates…

And if I read that correctly, one of his dates was a bit too waxy and honeyed for his taste.

Cortney the wine director joined us for the Coche. So I sat with two smart women.

You’re supposed to put the pot stirrer after that sentence BTW. [cheers.gif]
