TN: Corton Charlemagne 2004 Bouchard

I have been drinking through my bottles of this wine and have had very mixed results. Some were totally oxidized, some on the way, and some were young beautifull examples of great White Burgundy. This bottle is great.

Light yellow gold in color with just a tinge of green remaining, this has great aromas of citrus fruit, green apple, lots on stoney minerality, and a tocuh of wheat toast. A really deep and intense nose! On the palate this has good fruit flavors of lime and green apple, a touch of Chablis like seashell, nice acidity, and a long finish.

Bottles like this deserve extended cellaring, but I will be finishing my remaining bottles over the short term. I have had similar experience with Bouchard’s 04 Meursault Perieres and will also finish them. But I do have two bottles of Bouchard 2004 Montrachet, and will hold them and hope.

This is my one of many '04’s I bought that I really really pray will be ok when I open my remaining bottles. Have had twice and both bottles were brilliant. A stunner.

Your experience of Bouchard 2004 are very similar to mine for vintge 2002. Since then…only mix 2 or 3 bottles of each for each year and open them before 6 or 7. Sad…

That being said…2006 so far is OK…and drinking beautifully now. But I have not had a chance to open the CC yet ( only 2 bottles ). No Chev and no Monty from vintage 2006.
