Perhaps interestingly, Molesworth at Ws published a 15 year vertical of tasting notes today on Cos. Non-blind. He gave 2005, 2009 and 2010 towering scores. He liked 2004 (93) quite a bit (another vintage I have). All wines from 2000-2014 received outstanding scores and I generally don’t think he’s the candy man.

Sometimes just the thing for the wineries that make bigger wines is an “off” vintage like 2004 to naturally dial them back down a bit.

I also found it interesting that he attached scores to the 2013 and 2014 (93) wines considering his reports on those vintages are otherwise unpublished. I bought 2014 on futures.

I’m afraid my Cos by the case days are over; my dozen of the 2001 was $70/bottle.

Had the pleasure of tasting this wine just once - my wife and I came into Scopa just as Alan and his wife were finishing dinner, and he was kind enough to pass a bottle with ~1/4 left to us, which we finished standing up while waiting for our table. Delish. The wine we bought with dinner (IIRC an A-R Trousseau) was good but didn’t quite measure up to the one we started the evening with
