TN: Charles Joguet Clos de la Dioterie 2003

i tasted this on release when it’s lush fruit inspired me to purchase more. back then the vintage characteristics were definitely showing through more than joguet characteristics, but in a good way. now it has settled into itself with the fruit segueing into classic cabernet franc minerality. beautiful acidity.
this is delicious right now with a 2hr decant although i intend cellaring a few for 10 or more years as i’ve heard this bottling can become quite extraordinary with age. 92+

Thanks for the note, Phillip. I am particularly interested in updates on the 03 given the ripe vintage and wide speculation as to it’s future. I’ve not pulled one of the Dioterie yet, but am holding some as well as the Chene Vert.

laura - it was probably the same speculation i heard that made me purchase across the board on many 03 joguet’s. this was the first i’ve tasted of any of them since purchase and from the potential showing of this one bottle i’m pretty happy that i did.
