TN: Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2006

Color: Dark ruby, almost saturated purple right to the rim

Nose: ripe black currant, roasted coffee, violets

Palate: ripe black currant and black fruits, mineral, esspresso, medium acidity, tannins are ripe and sweet with fine grains and a medium grip.
Finish is long with fruit and cola flavors

Overall impression: IMHO, this is still one of the better premium cab values out of Napa, although the recent price increase it took dented that a little bit. This is ready to go and the moderate acidity makes me think it won’t be a candidate for long term cellaring.

Wow one person thatt agrees! Wed be drinking a lot together if I was still in Jersey

are you in eastern or western PA?

saw this on e-mail blast 3X on Friday. glut must have hit the marketplace or Chuck just wants the cash now. best offer was $65 with FS.

Yeah, Glenn, I was also curious. WTSO was selling for $64 with another bottle of Chardonnay.

As I sit here with an open 2005 Jones Sisters I seriously wonder of $65 Caymus Cab’s place.

Mark, thanks for the note.

Im in western pa…north of pitt.
Glenn Id still bought a few at 65 after trying it, but I got some superduperyoureaspecialcostumerandweloveyourshoes sale a few months back and got a half a case for 42 bucks iirc.

That would be a bit far to travel.
If I get out Pittsburgh way, I’ll let you know.

Sure thing…I swing by Jersey often. Went to Princeton for undergrad and UMDNJ Newark after that. Wife’s from Jersey. She has some family in Bricktown. Plus I miss NYC, did residency there. Make it back at least once a year.
