Tried this last weekend:

  1. Carlisle PetiteSirah SonomaCnty (15.0%; 175 cs; 72% RossiRanch/17% DelCarloRanch/11% Rosella’s Syrah; Drk: 2015-2040: MO) 2013: Very dark/near black color; some toasty/oak intense blackberry/boysenberry/PS bit peppery/spicy rich/lush nose; bit soft very rich/lush intense blackverry/boysenberry/PS/bit peppery light earthy bit toasty/oak flavr w/ modest soft/ripe tannins; very long slight rough/earthy/tannic strong boysenberry/ripe/blackberry/PS/huge fruit slight peppery/spicy finish w/ modest ripe/smooth tannins; quite a nice PS; a bit lacking in structure but loads of PS fruit. $34.00

  1. I took my first look at the Carlisle WebSite in yrs. Man…what a wealth of data Mike has on there.
    Mike expects this wine to go out 25 yrs. I expect it may last that long but, as many PS’s, may not develop a lot of complexity. I’ll revisit this wine in 2040 and report back.
