TN: Briceland Sparkling BerserkerPack (Humboldt County, CA)

These were really nice, especially the vintage which easily competes with a number of champagnes in its price range ($45). Thanks Andrew for the BerserkerDay offer.

  • NV Briceland Brut - USA, California, North Coast, Humboldt County (2/12/2012)
Fine and persistent bead. Green apple and asian pear on the nose. Light to medium bodied with medium acidity. Ripe green apple and pear spritzed with lemon juice. Fruit forward but focused with nice acidity. (89 pts.)
  • NV Briceland Brut Rosé - USA, California, North Coast, Humboldt County (2/13/2012)
Reticent nose of peach fuzz and chalk. Light to medium bodied with low to medium acidity. Tart strawberry and peach and a bit of lemon pith on the finish. This started simple and straightforward but improved as it warmed up. (89 pts.)
  • 2000 Briceland - USA, California, North Coast, Humboldt County (3/3/2012)
Rich, toasted nut flavors mingle with fresh apples and pears. Nice balance of fruit, acidity and aged characteristics. Lovely. (91 pts.)

Thanks for posting your notes, Zach.

I look forward to your feedback on the reds, when you get around to tasting them.

In case anyone is trying to keep track, there is one other thread from someone who tasted after their Bday order:
