Color: Dark ruby, a little murky, color is consistent to the rim
Nose: Black currants, flowers, and a wee bit 'o graphite, trimmed with some oak aromas.
Palate: Solid but creamy black currant fruit, bright acidity, assertive but fine grained and velvety tannins. A little abrupt on the finish.
Overall impression: Good stuff. Great <$20.00 QPR with a big mouthful of fruit, tannin, and finesse. Not overly jammy or alcoholic. I wouldn’t think about aging this, but if I did I could see it going 5 years and becoming something more delicate and interesting.
