Color: Dark ruby, clean and clear to the rim.
Nose: Black fruits, minerals, floral notes, licorice, alcohol
Palate: Black fruits, prunes and plums with really low RS, lots of mineral notes, a little heat from the alcohol, tannins are medium aggressive with fine grains and good ripeness, acidity is medium, finish is long with ripe fruit.
Overall perception: Drink it now or cellar it short term. It is impressive with it’s complexity for such a ripe wine. This is Michel Chapoutier even though the name is absent from the label. The back label makes mention of a known Rhone producer making this wine and there is braille on the front label. At about a $20.00 retail, it is a winner.
