TN: Avery Family Cellar Inaugural Wine Dinner - Really old wines

Regardless of the result, kind of logical for a press release to be upbeat, no?!

Imagine: “auction house disappointed with results of wine auction, could have done better”

Very impressive selection of wines, kshin!!!

As mentioned by Ms Downey, the ullage is appropriate for such ancient bottles. The old world passive storage system in a cool-weather site is probably going to benefit positive aging outcomes more so than a similar setup in, say, Louisiana.

Disappointing results usually means no press release. And this one, as press releases go, is more self congratulatory than usual.

We paid $200-$300 for the 20s to 50s none first, classified growths. I don’t think the prices quoted in the press release is that outrageous.
