TN: Arcadian 2003 Stolpman Vyd Syrah

Nose of pepper and smoked meat. The mid-palate is a lighter red fruit profile with some definite pepper/spice. Balanced with nice acidity. 15% alcohol is pretty well concealed. This will improve over the next 5 years but is drinking well at present.

Is this a Doris purchase, or an ‘old school’ mailing list purchase?

Did you guys ever put together plans for a wine cellar, or are you spending all your money on Guitar Hero songs?

I notice Joe’s alcohols have really moved up the last few vintages.

I think I’m down to Arcadian and Rhys for mailers at present. Unfortunately the wine cellar is below the basement-A/V room remodel in the pecking order. One of these days it will happen.

Bump. The oldest thread I could find that is revivable. Just wanted to get it over with.

Good timing, Jay. Many Arcadian wine club bottles are being delivered today.

No Syrah for me though. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll post a note. That should kill this thread for good. From our friends Jenise and Bob’s cellar:

2005 Arcadian Syrah Stolpman Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Ynez Valley (1/15/2019)
Clear light red with pink edges. Very fresh nose, herbs, red cherry, strawberry and a bit of earthiness. Spicy red cherry flavours and a pretty balanced light finish.

Very elegant and fresh. At or near it’s peak. (91 pts.)
