2005 Relic Wines Artefact - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/22/2009)
Decanted two hours, enjoyed over the next three. Fragrant nose, very floral, blackberries, boysenberries, leather. Dusty, smooth, purple fruits (plums, fig, blackberries) dominate the midpalate and finish. Very interesting wine. -
2005 Relic Wines Syrah Richard Perry Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/22/2009)
Popped and poured. Very prominent nose of black olives upon opening, this dissipated as the wine opened, revealing more iron and blood notes. Black fruit and pepper in the mouth, nice balance of sharp, sweet, spicy and rich.
