1998 Chateau de la Gardine CdP
Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose has cherries and a bit of leather. Medium bodied. On the palate, this has lost a lot of fruit and appears on the downward slide. Slightly acidic. Still has some cherries and raspberries. Simple. Glad it’s my last bottle. 50+3+11+16+5=85
2007 Sineann Abdonte
A blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel. From a .375 that got delivered earlier in the day. I waited three hours to let it settle after its cross country trip. Purple in color, ruby at the rim. The nose has black raspberry jam, spice, a touch of plums and prune Danish. Full bodied. On the palate, this is jammy, lush and easy to drink. Not a wine for contemplation, just hedonistic pleasure. At $24 a full size bottle, this is a great QPR. Lots of black raspberries, plums and slight prune note. Long finish. Glass closure. 14.8% Alc. 50+4+12+18+7=91
2006 Vision Cellars Pinot Noir Chileno Valley Vyd.
I originally purchased this for a tasting that I could eventually not attend. About $36 Ohio. Screw capped. 14.6% Alc. Ruby/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has dark cherries and cherry-menthol cough syrup. Not bad, but I didn’t love it. Full bodied. Much better on the palate, lots of cherries and some menthol but not way overblown. It is a big Pinot, but within reason. Easy to drink. Some complexity and earthiness starting to show. 50+4+12+16+7=89
