TN: 96 Louis Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Domaine des Héritiers

  • 1996 Louis Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (9/3/2014)
Wonderful btl and in a perfect place. No signs of premox whatsoever at the young age of 18! Perfectly stored since release doesn’t hurt either. About as good a white Burg as I’ve ever drank. Explosive nose of flowers, tangerine, smoke and later hazelnut. The palate is a kaleidoscope of flavors such as; almonds, toast, lemon, stone fruit with an underlying strong sense of minerality. Tremendous concentration and length. The only way this gets anymore perfect would be if it had a smidge more acidity. Elegance and finesse rule here. What sucks about this wine is how it crowded out, I guess, my still too young at 9+yrs old 05 Bonneau Du Martray Corton Charlie for the limelight. On its own the Martray would have seemed much more impressive but in context tonight it was 91pt wine. What a great experience with a couple wine buddies. Our local Oceanaire Seafood Room rocked last night too which didn’t hurt. (98 pts.)

Nice Craig.
When this wine is on. It is one of the really great Chevaliers out there.

Totally agree… champagne.gif

Sounds awesome. I had a 93 Jadot Batard recently that blew me away. Old White Burgs are some of the most special wines on earth, and all too rare of a commodity.

lots of bottle variation in the 96. I have had premoxed bottles and watery bottles. Used to be one of my favorite white Burgs, but no longer. No more Jadot for me.

Same here. I stopped buying completely after vintage 2002. Around 80 % of my Jadot - Morgeots -CdlChappele 2002 were with premox after age 5 to 6. [head-bang.gif]

Don’t blame you at all. This was sourced locally from store that would take it back if bad. Nice, when no risk.
