Sonoe dropped off some of her new releases and I’ve been tasting through them slowly. The ‘23 Castanon Zin, the ‘24 Alder Springs Pinot and this time around the ‘24 Linda Vista Chardonnay. Still have a ‘24 Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma Valley on deck that should get a look this weekend. Really enjoying these wines, hope you are enjoying the early notes.

Opened and followed over the course of the evening. Pale straw color, nose is a mixture of pear and lemon lime with loads of crushed stone/oyster shell minerality and tropical flowers. Delicate and intriguing, I just kept sticking my nose in the glass. This would be a great base for a sparkling wine. The palate is broad and creamy without being heavy. Mouth coating with notes of grapefruit, banana, lemon curd and lanolin. Very Chablis-like, focused and pleasing. There’s lip smacking acidity, more minerality and a saline note. The grapefruit and pith carry through the finish. A very even keeled wine that would be very food friendly. This wine reminds me a lot of the ‘22 Linda Vista with its creaminess and laser focus. Just love what she’s doing with this vineyard
