TN: 2023 Domaine de la Solitude - Chapelle blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan)

2023 Domaine de la Solitude Chapelle - France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan (12/1/2025)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 2.75 hrs. on Day 1; revisited on Day 3 –
– 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon –

NOSE: expressive and tangy, and a bit butterscotchy on Day 3.

BODY: medium orange-inflected light maize color; medium bodied.

TASTE: medium-light pyrazine note; leans more Sauv. Blanc than it does Semillon, but the Semillon is noticeable. This has a fair amount of dry extract. Seems to lose flavor as it warms to room temp in the mid 60s. Decent acidity (medium to medium+). Seemed to present as being on the lighter/thinner side on Day 3. 13% alc. is hidden. Fairly priced at $16, but not a rebuy because it’s pretty boring.
