TASTE: dry; mineral-laden palate is a touch salty, with white peach leading the way for the fruit. Very nice. This paired wonderfully with roasted Barramundi, bell pepper relish, and Israeli cous-cous. Muled this back from our visit to the winery last year; don’t think it’s available for purchase elsewhere, but that doesn’t matter much because – as good as it is – it’s ridiculously priced at ~$70 USD.
I will admit, after my week in Greece last year, I came to the conclusion that Assyrtiko is not my thing. LOL!! That said, there’s a few I enjoy, but I don’t see myself ever buying them. Art Space’s Assyrtikos were, by far, my favorites of all the ones I tried, but they’re even more expensive than this Assyrtiko-Aidani blend; I bought a couple, mostly for the sake of a touch of cellar diversity and also for souvenir.
