The elevage toast here is a dead ringer for Niellon. Very similar to old Coche Dury also. The nose is very bright mineral and citrus focused. Great mouthfeel. The finish has an almost leesy feel. Like you would get from a Champagne. Very long. Should be quite interesting with time. Right now all the parts just need to harmonize. I really like this.

I was recently introduced to 00 wines at a magnum lunch. Someone brought a 2022 VGW and I was blown away. I immediately went on the website to purchase some, but they only had the 2023 VGW, so I ordered six bottles. Opened one last week, and sadly it wasn’t quite as good as the 2022. It was a little less concentrated. Could be that it wasn’t out of magnum like the 2022 I tried.

The 2022s took a long time to come around, but they are excellent wines.

Sounds like 23 v 22 white Burg.
