2022 Inama Soave Classico Vigneti di Foscarino - Italy, Veneto, Soave Classico (5/11/2026)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 2.5 hrs on Day 1; revisited on Day 2 –
– 100% Garganega –

NOSE: moderately expressive; soft and high-toned, with Asian pear aroma dominating.

BODY: green-tinged golden yellow color; light to medium-light bodied. Diam30 closure.

TASTE: 12.5% alc. is well-hidden; soft mouthfeel; medium acidity is enough; Asian pear; a hint of creamy tanginess seems to be deeply embedded; don’t serve this too cold, as that dampens the fruit and the apparent acidity. I like it, even though it’s not as acidic or vivacious as I prefer — but, nonetheless, there’s a spot for this. On Day 2 this was still drinking well, but I can’t escape the overarching feeling that this is just an “easy,” middle-of-the-fairway and solid-not-exciting wine. I still consider this to be very good, I’m just not loving its soft presentation.
