TN: 2021 Weingut Max Ferd. Richter Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett

  • 2021 Weingut Max Ferd. Richter Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (3/8/2023)
    Glassware: Zalto Universal
    Prep: Pop n' pour

    Pretty nose of ripe strawberries, yellow peach, lime zest, lemongrass, and a touch of cardamom. Similarly enjoyable upon tasting with lime peel and bergamot fruit upfront followed by lemongrass, vanilla, and wet slate. The prickly acidity and buoyancy of this wine on the palate leaves me going back for sip after sip, with lingering slate minerals and just a playful touch of whipped cream on the finish for some sweetness. Should age nicely and improve as it sheds some baby fat, but very delicious now. (92 points)

One of the best values in the world!

I quite liked the 2020 of this. Any experience with the GG Uralte Reben?

@Robert_Panzer surely does!?!

Thanks Brian - your experience is close to mine on this Riesling. A charmer and a great value. A big step up from the ‘20s. I wonder how well these Kabinetts will age? Mine never seem to :laughing:.

Agree!
Richter is my Prum Spat and Kab stand-in (at half the price).
