- 2021 Müller-Catoir Haardter Herzog Rieslaner Auslese - Germany, Pfalz (10/14/2024)
I have been drinking Müller-Catoir Rieslaner since the 1989 vintage. This is textbook Catoir Rieslaner. It has all the grilled peach and horseradish that I expect from late harvest Rieslaner, and when the variety’s inherent ferocity is combined with the electricity of the 2021 vintage the result is enough to power a small city.

So it’s up there with the HGS Rieslaners?

I would say that it is in the same league, but HGS was still a step ahead. Darned good stuff though.

Horseradish?!?
That really sounds like something I need to try…
I often get horseradish and/or red chili notes in Rieslaner.
