Same impressions on the 2020 Clos Alfred minus the lactic note, but I think that it’ll be gone from the 2021 as well with some time in the bottle.

If I had the choice locally of the 20 and the 21 at the same price, which is better?

Depends what you like and when you are going to drink them Chris. The '20’s are very deep and concentrated and have started to shut down. Bruno rates them as the best wines he has made, for what its worth, but they need time. A normal year at Domaine Lorenzon yields around 35hl/ha, in 2021 the average was around 20hl/ha, some wines were dramatically down on this. Bruno describes the purity in the 2021 wines as much like 2013. I love the '21’s and will drink mine a little earlier than the '20’s. I love the '20’s too.

The 2020 has gain some weight since the last time I try it, I would say that this wine is now “complete”, and what nice acidity. I’m a fan, this is the quintessential example of a producer’s entry level that delivers.
