Candidly I’ve struggled with some of the N cuvées. Even a great bottle if you leave it a few hours can turn mousy on the finish. There’s a floral quality the non sulfur bottlings can have that’s amazing. I just think they’re best drunk closer to the source and or earlier in their lives. Or quickish after opening.

My experience as well. I like my Ns young, otherwise S > N.

I’m their importer in the Rep. of Panama. When I visited them back in 2022, they were kind enough to pop open 2011-2016 both in N and S versions. Mathieu did say that in the long run the non sulphered version was better, which really showed there at the winery.
I only buy the sulphered version for my market, since it’s not always easy to have the wines 100% refrigerated when they go through customs. I opened a magnum of their 2011 last week with Louis-Antoine Luyt, who worked with Marcel before venturing off to make wine in Chile. It was a beautiful wine, as well as the first vintage without Marcel being present.
