On the palate it is also quite rich and lush with a degree oiliness to it. Quite atypical for Muscadet, then, but at the same time it sports a great acidity, is very savory and highly drinkable.

Very nice note. Your words here rang a bell. I had a similar but not so open-minded reaction to another of their Muscadet offerings a while ago.

What bottle of wine did you open today? (Part 2)

2018 Luneau-Papin Clos des Allees Muscadet. If I had tasted this wine blind, my first guess would not have been Muscadet. I would have gone with Fiano or maybe Albarino? Full of ripe non-citrus fruit, acid present but without the lemon complement that I enjoy. Its actually a pretty good wine, but I was disappointed because it did not fit the Muscadet stereotype that I was looking for.
