TN: 2020 Di Costanzo Cabernet Sauvignon DI CO (USA, California, Napa Valley)

Appreciate that. To put it simply: You can’t go wrong with DI CO.

I was going to seek out some of the fab 2023 vintage of DiCo. However, I’m more in the dark fruit lovers category. That being said, what recent vintages might scratch that itch? Thanks in advance.

I think its still dark fruited, just not as much as prior vintages. But i think it will be fabulous. I think you would like 20, 21, and 22. 19 is absolutely killer as well if you can find it.

A bunch of '19 kept popping up on Winebid over the past ~year…and I kept buying em!

I believe my first bottles came from Winebid and probably that is my best source.

I would also say that whereas Di Co represents a vineyard blend and maybe more red fruited in some years (I do not plan to try the 2023 for several years so I cannot speak to that), you should try their single vineyard cuvees. More expensive, but still an incredible value for what you get. I think Charlie Smith and Caldwell lean towards darker fruit and are simply outstanding.

Perfect timing for that insight.

A friend was willing to share some of his allotment and i was pondering those single vineyard labels.

I love their montecillo. Their farella was my favorite when they were making it

Honestly, all of their SVDs are delicious. I only mentioned Caldwell and Charlie S. based on dark fruit where as I feel that Farella and Montecillo has had more of a combination of both dark and red in the library wines I have recently tried.

Absolutely agreed

The new ‘23 Charlie Smith Moon Mountain is delicious as is the ‘24 Deering Chardonnay.
