Ages 5-15 is a sweet spot I think. This has to be one of the friendliest Pauillacs I can think of – sort of like what Pichon Lalande was during its heyday.
d’Armailhac is one of the main culprits for hooking me on red Bordeaux!
Agree. We had a 2010 two years ago for our anniversary dinner and it was in a great place! We were married in 1990 but renewed our vows on a cruise in 2010 with our son and daughter as Best Man and Maid of Honor, so now we have two anniversary years to find bottles to celebrate with!
Hmmmmm … interesting. Funny you mention Pichon Lalande – their second is one I’d consider similarly-friendly. I’ve only had d’Armailhac a few times, but has struck me similarly each time — red-fruited, and on the lighter side; I enjoy it, and is one I would probably buy more often if I were buying much Bdx. these days.
