Only after buying this bottle did I realize that the fear I have for the vegetality in 2020 Chablis surely should apply to nearby appellations as well. Too late, obviously. The CT avg for this is 91.8 so it seems like I’m very much in the minority here.

The nose is quite nice with cidery and hard candy notes in the fruit department plus leesy and waxy notes. All those do a good enough job but still it is clear that there is unpleasant vegetality here in the way of root vegetables. On the palate it has quite appropriate proportions in terms of volume, weight and acidity but all I can really concentrate on is the damned vegetality. The missus does not know a thing about 2020 Chablis and immediately she noted how green especially the finish is, ”this tastes like cucumber”. I managed to drink a glass with food but on its own it’s not drinkable for me. I know I am more sensitive to this flaw than most wine drinkers so YMMV.
