2019 Domaine Patrick Baudouin Anjou Cloś des Bruandíères - France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Anjou (8/29/2024)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 1.75 hrs. on Day 1; revisited on Day 5 –

NOSE: honey up front, with a grassy/weedy hint in the background; medium+ expressiveness.

BODY: pale maize color; medium-light to medium bodied.

TASTE: honeycomb; medium+ acidity; hint of ripe banana; light oak; 14% alc. well-hidden; pretty strong on the honey note. DAY 5: still very good; packed; marzipan note now; a bit pricey at $60, but that price is not entirely unreasonable; seems it would age well; not exactly my style of Chenin, and for that reason it’s not a rebuy for me. Kind of Huet-like. Drink or Hold.
