2019 Frank Cornelissen Susucaru Rosato - Italy, Sicily, Terre Siciliane (6/10/2025)
Starting to go the way of the funk! Showing very interesting tea-like flavors to go with the dried raspberries and tilled up earthy strawberry patch. Little browning and tawny-ish...still has a nice snap of sour tarts...blood orange citrus squeeze...cranberry tea...crushed minerals...the florals are more dried potpourri now, earthy, with the same exotics of mulled spices, cinnamon stick, juniper, dried herbs as previous bottles...definitely not as "pretty" as in its youth...yet still very interesting and attention holding with every sip! I still love it! Que the Funkytown song...🎶 (94 points)

At what point did Cornelissen give up the funk?

Good point!

i dunno they are quite clean now. he uses sulphur and filters. last couple vintages have been super consistent.

When they’re good, they’re good! And I respect him for ‘listening’ to his wines and taking appropriate measures. You’re always learning.

K/L has the 2023 on pre-arrival for $24. I think I paid $33 for the 19…no brainer!
