TN: 2019 Dureuil-Janthial Rully Maizières Blanc

  • 2019 Dureuil-Janthial Rully Maizières Blanc - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Rully (3/1/2026)
This wine has tightened considerably over the past couple of years and is very compact, direct and linear. A fine nose of preserved lemon, green melon and Arum Lily. There are smoky mineral notes and a hint of spice. It has terrific mineral detail and fabulous. squint inducing, chalky and citrus cut. I like this very much.

Just had a couple of bottles of the 2023 in Le Petit Sommelier. Drinking very nicely and good fun at 79€ a pop.

Love the preserved lemon and green melon notes sounds like this is drinking beautifully right now. That smoky mineral backbone is exactly what keeps me coming back to Dureuil Janthial’s whites.

Has anyone had the 2020 of late?

Village Rully and Chéne (both 2020) a few weeks ago. Lovely wines but not quite ready yet for my taste. Will let the rest rest for another couple of years before I begin opening them.
