Really lovely and charming; the nose greets you with lemon curd, a bit of almond skin, and a deft touch of oak. The midpalate has a nice weight to it before a compelling zesty citrus-driven & stony finish knits it all together. Boris Champy seems to be overachieving in both reds and whites across the Hautes-Côtes and I’m excited to follow the progress of this domaine over the next few vintages.
Pretty aligned on this one too Sean!

2019 Boris Champy Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Elévation 382 - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune (5/21/2022)
This pours medium straw in the glass. The nose is of meyer lemon, ripe pear, lemon custard, white flowers, and a light whiff of Basil. The palate enters on lovely ripe fruit, with custard, a light elegant frame, and finishes on medium plus acid. All in all not quite up to my favorite producers of white burgundy, but a nice effort all around. (91 pts.)
Good stuff coming from Boris Champy in white and red for sure.
