So pretty and floral on the nose. A touch reduced, but not distractingly so. On the palate there is cool, sappy blue and purple fruits, intense florality, some oak spice. Beautifully structured, and the influence of new oak is apparent, but this is still approachable now. The wine finds a delightful balance and this will without question age beautifully. Not remotely a waste to open this in its youth but it will certainly improve with time.
A bottle of the 1999 vintage may be the best bottle of wine I’ve ever had. That said, I have limited wine experience relative to this board.
Thanks for the helpful tasting note; I have some on the way.
