Not if all the TNs are going to speak of dark rather than red fruits from now on.

I don’t think it was too different than what I would expect from Ramonet’s reds. Blind you could easily place it in Chambolle or Volnay.

I think that is more of a Ramonet…overall too many of the wines historically for me were under ripe, had very chunky tannin structures and were dominated by a rustic iron note, almost like a unripe, watered down Pommard from a rainy vintage.

There’s been a lot of love on this board recently for Ramonet’s rouges. Deservedly so.

Collectible fine wine and ny wine warehouse are the best places to get it that I’ve found.

Niellon is in same ballpark outside of Clos de la Boudriotte. I understand your point overall Howard…feels like Cornas years ago, or St. Joseph before Gonon hit $120 a bottle.

Do these age for that length of time? I picked up my three bottles of '17 Clos de la Boudriotte today - thinking one now, then the other two in a few year intervals. I’ve always thought of Chassagne reds as being a bit less structured so I’d be curious to see if they can go for the long haul.

Yes. Historically at least, Chassagne Rouge has been long-lived.
