TN: 2017 Louis Michel & Fils Chablis: I’m clueless about French wines in general and this is one of the wines I bought at the time of my “I don’t get Chardonnay” postings. It might have been recommended in that thread. Yesterday seemed as good a day as any to meet my low expectations. And lo and behold - really loved it! Clean, crisp, yet pretty deep yellow color. Said on the back it was stainless steel, so that probably was where the crispness stemmed from. None of those medicinal notes I always taste on Chardonnay (even the un-oaked ones). Loved it. 91pts.
I’m fairly new to trying Chardonnay again as well after writing it off a couple years ago. I had their 2016 Vaillons yesterday and was very impressed. It was balanced and had some of that electric acidity that I crave in white wine.
One of the great value producers…my favorites are Foret and Montee de Tonnere.

Adam, Chablis usually (if made right) has that minerally, tangy acidity that you seem to like. I think it’s one of the most delicious wines out there. Try it was some fresh seafood like crab or a light white fish…heavenly.
You really should try a Premier Cru or Grand Cru just to see what they are like, too.
