In my understanding the Réserve wines of Boxler are made using grapes grown on the young vines of their Grand Cru vineyards. My hitrate has not been 100%, sometimes the alcohol levels get high there and one can really feel it, but this one is really on point. Ripe for sure but definitely not flabby or low energy. In a really good place right now.

Very sunny and ripe-fruited on the nose yellow apple and mirabelle for days. Not only fruit, though, as it is quite minerally too with some herbal notes and emerging petrol. Some sponti funk too??? On the palate the similarly evident as this has volume, weight and some warmth. Simultaneously it is acidic and markedly minerally and maintains a very good drinkability. The ripeness reminds of FX Pichler but there is more freshness here. By all means this is very tasty and especially on the palate relatively complex too with very good balance and nice length. Surpassed my expectations easily, stellar stuff.
