2016 Rhys Alesia Chardonnay Santa Cruz Mountains - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (11/10/2018)
Wow this is good, even better than tasted at the winery a couple of months back. 12.3% abv. Light straw, moderate aromatics. Cirtrus and stone, very energetic, very precise, beautifully delineated. Good length, surprising depth. Should continue to improve. (93 pts.)

Thanks for the note. I’ve got a 12-pack of 375s coming and they will be most welcome. Yes, these wines are expensive. Yes, they are worth it.
Never loved the Alesia wines, but have a ton of Rhys Chards back to 2006 maybe, anyone tried any lately and any at risk that need to be drank up?
Kris, these aren’t your father’s Alesia. Beginning this vintage they are the Rhys appellation wines.
That makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying.
This is quite nice. Lemon oil, cinnamon and granite on the nose. Nice blend of tropical fruit and lemony acidity on the palate. Doesn’t have the power and weight of the single vineyard Rhys wines, but a lovely second wine.
