    The only thing that lets on that this has a little bit of age is some sediment in the glass. Otherwise it is such a youthful and gorgeous drink. Some black olive and menthol mixes it up with blood plum and cherry fruits. It has wonderful depth, a creamy mid and gravelly tannins. Everything is in such perfect balance and proportion. With air, purple flowers appear. The finish is so long and cut by fine acidity. It is so light on its feet. Probably the best young Gonon I have had.

Thnx Jeremy, always appreciate an early look on Gonon.

I am still not sure about the optimal time to open these; trade off between the amazing vibrant fruit and the (usually) imposing structure.

My current thoughts are about 12 to 15 years from vintage

Yea but so often tasty young as well. Had the 2017 last week. It’s the vintages like 2010 that need “hands off”.

Yeah not very original I guess!

I prefer to wait longer that 15 years for Jamet, Chave, Clape etc but for Gonon I think I like them a bit younger.

The 15 year rule is just a bit of an inside joke.
