TN: 2016 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale

I drank a bottle eight months ago, so not a very recent note, but it was surprisingly open and very delicious. It is a wine I look out for in restaurants now.

My last bottle was a little over a year ago and I’m in agreement. I can’t imagine given the way it showed and the way it is structured that anything would have changed. At a good price it is something to check out.

I have been buying Marechale regularly since around 2008 and my feeling is that the wines are improving, as they learn more about the site and vineyard. The Chambolle village wine however is a better drink when young. Of course the Marechale is much more readily available than the Chambolle and other cuvees.
