Probably your pallet is true to the problem of the wine in this vintage…Isn’t it actually not Domaine (not written on the 2016 BB label) this 2016 because of what Charlie FU stated earlier? That this 2016 BB is a blend of Chablis, Meursault and Mâconnais fruit…So probably his skill still made the most of it, but it’s just not as good as normal?
Thanks, yes. Not Domaine. Label is Jean-Marc Roulot.
I will say that a couple of CT users with first-hand experience have reached out to me about the possibility of my bottle being off as their take was not as negative as mine. My bottle was atypical, even given the tough vintage, for a Roulot BB. I bought three bottles locally, at a reputable shop, so we will see on the other two. I will try another bottle soon and report back.
I grabbed a bottle of this from the importer about a month ago and thought it was disjointed and pretty ordinary, it did improve slightly with a fair bit of air but not enough to purchase anymore of it.
Thanks for the data point and validation I’m not nuts
