2016 Domaine Faury St. Joseph Blanc - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, St. Joseph (6/29/2019)
A rec from the ever reliable Eric P @ Sec Wines. Starts out strong right out of the gate, mainly orchard stone fruits on the nose and I could almost smell some viscosity in the form a slight soapy quality, sounds odd but it worked. With more air, it became more floral, honeycomb-ish. The viscosity kicks over to the palate, a smoky peaty quality, and a drier version of the stone fruits that were on the nose. If you only know the Reds from Faury, seek this white out, good value at $31 for what’s in the glass. 60%Marsanne 40% Roussanne. (91 pts.)
