TN: 2016 Cameron Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley)

  • 2016 Cameron Pinot Noir Willamette Valley - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (8/28/2018)
Nice fruit on the nose. The palate is rich fruit, mushroom, and acid. The typical cameron funk is there for sure. Not high in alcohol but a little but more cocentrated that the '15 WV or the '15 Dundee Hills. This is the 2nd bottle I’ve tasted since release, Its easy drinking and enjoyable, but not complex or inspiring at the moment for Cameron. I had the same thoughts for the 1st bottle and +2 months hasn’t helped. We drank a '15 Dundee Hills last week and it was fantastic and much more interesting juice. ~+$10 in price though. (87 pts.)

While at a great price point and more than worth the price, I rarely buy/drink the WV. As you note, For a bit more, the Dundee Hills is more interesting. Spend more and the Reserve is always a great drink, especially for those that don’t want to splurge on Clos Eleqtrique or Abbey Ridge.
