The wine looks light ruby colored and bright clarity. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry and passion fruit. It tastes like ripe bing cherry and chrysanthemum. The body is light. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Great wine and served chilled is delicious.

Brig,

You’re a funny guy. No emotion. No passion. What’s the deal?!?!?

This has really been a fun wine to talk about and pour for folks. It’s a 100% whole cluster, foot stomped by me, and aged entirely in stainless steel blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Mourvedre. It was an ‘experiment’ - I took the same wines and barreled some down to older French oak and some to stainless drums. I was going to compare/contrast for about 9 months, but after 3, decided to bottle the stainless drums on their own. You are not supposed to store red wine in stainless unless you microox because the thought is that it tends to get reductive - and that’s why I decided to do what I did

It’s a fun wine to serve chilled, but let it warm up and the stems become a bit more noticeable - and make the wine more interesting, to me . . .

Cheers!

Ha! Every once in a while I use the tasting assistant in cellartracker to write the note for giggles. Mainly to browse the descriptions but I was diddling around for Dan at CT and ended up in the note assistant. So you got the robot note!

Let me expand. This was a super refreshing wine served chilled. In contrast to the rosé, which is an all time favorite, this is bright fruit and soft. Lacks the grit and dirt of the rosé. We paired this with roasted fajita chicken in an queso onion and pepper sauce. The fruit complemented the spicy pollo.

A perfect patio wine on a spring evening.

had a chance to taste this as part of a tasting, and then finished a bottle on its own later. As a tasting, I think I was suffering from palate fatigue and couldn’t really appreciate much of the nuances. I am, however, glad that I got a bottle, since it was absolutely delicious, and striking. I agree that it was most refreshing slightly chilled, but it was wonderful as it warmed and the flavors evolved, and aromas became more prominent. Sniffing/tasting blind, I would have sworn that it was a heavier-bodied rose, but with more pronounced red fruits. Definitely worth a try.

One of my favorites from the recent Garagiste tasting in Oakland.

Well, that’s saying something!
