2015 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (4/6/2017)
Not as cloudy and rustic as the 14…brighter(malo partially blocked) yet still rich and ripe fruited…oak barrel vanilla and coconut adds some tropical notes…not as “Coche Dury” reduction like the 14, but still some smoked peach and barrel spice. The fruit is creamy yellow pitted with a nice cut of citrus. Really well balanced to a Batard-like impersonation. Love the pretty white flower florals, butter sautéed pineapple, exotic white honey…plenty of mineral crunch for the Burgheads. Another fantastic Chard from TRB…and again, with the Pinot, the greatest QPR wines around! (94 pts.)
