TN: 2015 Jolie Laide GSM Rossi Ranch Vineyard

Catching up on some tastings over the past few weeks.

2015 Jolie Laide GSM Rossi Ranch Vineyard:

Writing tasting notes for the various wines of Jolie Laide is so simple it’s almost boring. Why, because wines crafted by Scott Schultz (Owner-Winemaker) are always so balanced and expressive of the vineyard and grapes where they originated. Fresh Bing cherry and blackberry fruit from the grenache and syrah, floral honeysuckle and peach notes from the muscat and viognier. Mix in some nice subtle notes of herbs and green olive all in perfect balance and you have a complete flavor profile. Lots of acidity and ripe tannin keeps this fresh, tasty and long. Tasting very nice now but will likely gain even more complexity over the next several years.

I believe this was the last year for the Jolie Laide Rossi Ranch wine as the vineyard is being replanted. In 2017 it was replaced by the Jolie Laide Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre from Shake Ridge which impressed me last fall on pick up day but have not tasted since.
