TN: 2015 Domaine Faury St. Joseph

Purple in color. 13% ABV. Soaring nose of red fruits, bacon fat, olive brine and flowers. Medium body with ample acidity. Soft, approachable and easy to drink. Black cherry, gamey meats, smoke and blood on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Delicious, well made Old World Syrah that is priced really well. Lots to like here. Best over the next 2-4 years.

My rating: 91 points.

my vote for my house red
seems this good in every vintage i’ve tried

right on! always over delivers. thanks for the note.

I had the 2015 Faury Cote Rotie a while back, and that was great too. It needs a few more years though. Sadly, the vendor I’d ordered the 2015 St Joe from shipped me the 2013 instead, and I never got around to getting a replacement.

Yes all around. The 15 and 16 are a step up in my experience, and the VV even more so. But I dig the regular bottling and I thought the 13 was plenty good, Arv.

I thought the 2013 was kind of lean.
