TN: 2014 Yvon Métras Moulin-à-Vent (France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent)

Tasty young Metras last night.

Smells like Burgundy at first, forest floor, yet the fruit is much brighter. It’s slightly carbonic on open, and there is a palate-smacking acidity along with fresh, ripe strawberry and raspberry. Like biting into fresh fruit. It’s buffered with the coolness that I guess is what we call minerality and finishes with black pepper. Rounds out and softens with air, but doesn’t really change much. Good drink. Now. And probably later.

Thx. Has anyone had an older Metras? How do they hold up?

Dennis, thanks for the note. I love this producer! I’ve got some of these in the queue. Love the basic Beaujolais.

Was talking about this the other day. I have not. Would like to.

That’s a Good one, too. And a a good buy usually. [cheers.gif]
