TN: 2014 Voillot Volnay VV

On first pour this was very tight – acidic, unyielding, and disjointed. With about 30 minutes of air, however, it unfurled. The nose blossoms with cherries, violets, earth and cocoa. An archetypal Volnay profile - very reminiscent of a d’Angerville Volnay 1er cru I tasted recently. The palate is suave and textured, with fine-grained tannins. Not a waste to open now but this will be better with age.

very good previously under radar producer.
